The National Weather Service has issued the following:
What: Flood Watch
Where: NYC
When: On 10/7 from 2:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Hazards: Heavy rain of 1.5 to 2.5 inches possible may cause flooding in the city, including on highways, streets, underpasses, as well as other poor drainage or low-lying spots.

Preparedness Actions:
  • If you are in a basement, prepare to move to a higher floor during periods of heavy rain.
  • Do not drive your vehicle or walk into areas where water covers the roadway as the water depth may be too great to allow you to cross safely.
  • If you lose power and have a disability, access and functional needs, or use life-sustaining equipment (LSE) and need immediate assistance, dial 911.

Get Your Flu Shot and Updated COVID-19 Vaccine TODAY!

NYC Health + Hospitals is here to keep you healthy while COVID-19 is still spreading and as we enter the flu season.

This year, you can get a flu vaccine at the same time as the updated monovalent COVID-19 vaccine at no cost to you.

Here's what you need to know:

All New Yorkers 6 months of age and older should get a flu vaccine, but especially:

  • Adults over 50 years old
  • Pregnant and post-partum individuals
  • Nursing home residents and staff
  • People with medical conditions like diabetes, asthma, HIV, kidney and heart disease
  • All essential workers, especially healthcare workers

Flu vaccines will reduce the chance of flu illnesses, hospitalizations and deaths in our community and the health care system.

Updated Monovalent COVID-19 vaccines are available to:

  • Individuals 5 years of age and older regardless of previous vaccination at least 2 months since the last dose of any COVID-19 vaccine
  • Children between the ages of 6 months and 4 years may require multiple doses based on their prior vaccinations
